Accounts Receivable Clerk

Pay range, Status & Schedule: This is a non-exempt position working Monday thru Friday 7:30 am to 4:15 pm with a .45 minute lunch, paying $20.00 per hour.What you'll do:Responsible for collections of past due AR accountsInteract with customers by answering phone calls, taking payment information and processing it efficiently and accurately.Prepares, verifies, and records customer payments and transactions using the company software.Prepares deposit batches and may either do a remote or physical bank deposits.Prepares and balances the Cash Worksheet on a daily basis.Researches and reconciles payments, customer discrepancies and past-due amounts.Reconciles subsidiary accounts on a periodic basis.Generates and sends out monthly billing statements to customers.Copies, files, and retrieves materials for Accounts Receivable, as needed.Relays information to appropriate employees and departments maintaining confidentiality of data, at all times.Processes adjustments and credit memos.Assists with month-end closing.Performs other related duties, as assigned.What you'll need:Associates Degree in Accounting, or relevant field.Two years of Accounts Receivable experience preferred.Ability to email customers with strong writing etiquette, verbal and communication skillsSolid understanding of basic bookkeeping. Good knowledge of Accounts Receivable principles.Proficient in MS Office, particularly MS Excel.Ability to deal with problems effectively and promptly and interact professionally with customers.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Strong team player willing to take on new tasks to help in other areas of the Accounting Dept., if needed.Other requirements: Incumbent must have reliable transportation.Physical demands & environment: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
