Expert Software Systems DeveloperMarkon is seeking an experienced Expert Software Systems Developer with experience supporting multiple software integrations/development projects in support of an IC Customer in Herndon, VA. The ideal candidate will bring advanced technical knowledge, strong troubleshooting capabilities, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical teams and senior government stakeholders.ResponsibilitiesAnalyzes functional business applications and design specifications for functional activitiesDevelops codes, tests, and debugs new software or enhancements to existing softwarePerforms maintenance on existing software products and contributes knowledge of business applicationsWrites programs according to specifications needed.Works with technical staff to understand problems had with software and then resolve themResolves customer complaints and responds to suggestions for improvements and enhancementsDevelops block diagrams and logic flow chartsProvides technical direction to programmers to ensure program deadlines are metSoftware version control baseline documentationDevelop project schedules, timelinesLeverage experience across the Center, Group and external officesCoordinate with Customer's security elements for Project Certification and AccreditationExperience with VPN technologies and protocols including IPSEC and SSLExperience in authoring documents (reports, briefings, etc,) to support customer missions.Communicates with staff or clients to understand specific systems requirementsProvides advice on project costs, design concepts, or design changesTrains system users in system operation or maintenanceResearches, tests, and/or verifies proper functioning of software patches and fixesQualificationsRequiredAn Active TS/SCI with a Full Scope Poly (Preferably from this client)Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field. Additional years of experience may substitute the lack of a related degree.9+ years of experience in software development, backend integration support, and systems development.Experience coding in Windows PowershellExperience in Puppet, C2S, SQL, Ruby, JAVA, C++, and.net software languages and supporting librariesExcellent understanding of communications/email protocol API implementationMust have knowledge of virtual administration and secure Virtual Private Networking.Excellent oral and written communication skillsHighly mission-focused/orientedDevelops, in conjunction with functional users, system alternative solutions.Ability to effectively manage several projects simultaneously in a rapidly paced environmentWorking knowledge of Customer's organization, internal policies, and processesExcellent knowledge of Customer's software development cycle and O&M processesPrior experience working with IC organizationsDesired:Working knowledge of Customers official messaging systemAbility to design/deliver customer web-based email client and server applicationsAbility to implement business process and workflow into custom email applicationsKnowledge of PKI key and LDAP implementationAbility to interface web application with remote relational database infrastructureSalary RangeUSD $180,000.00 - USD $210,000.00 /Yr.
