Construction Project EngineerLocation: Livonia, MIEmployment Type: Full-TimeCompensation: Competitive salary based on experience + bonus potential + comprehensive benefitsAbout the OpportunityA growing commercial and industrial general contractor is seeking a Construction Project Engineer to support the successful planning and execution of industrial construction projects.This position works closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, vendors, engineers, and clients to help ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and according to project specifications.This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to continue developing their project management experience and advance into a Project Manager role.Responsibilities• Assist Project Managers and Superintendents with day-to-day project coordination• Review construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and project documents• Prepare and manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation• Maintain project logs including RFIs, submittals, procurement schedules, and meeting minutes• Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, engineers, architects, and field personnel• Support subcontractor bidding, scope reviews, procurement, and contract administration• Monitor material and equipment deliveries• Assist with project scheduling and look-ahead schedules• Track project costs, budgets, commitments, and change orders• Review subcontractor invoices and payment applications• Participate in project meetings and communicate action items• Perform site visits to monitor project progress, quality, and safety• Assist with quality control inspections, punch lists, commissioning, and project closeout• Support permits, inspections, testing, and regulatory documentation• Identify project risks, conflicts, and scheduling concerns• Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards• Maintain organized project files and documentation• Assist with closeout documentation, warranties, as-built drawings, and operations manualsQualifications• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field preferred• 2+ years of Project Engineer, Field Engineer, or Project Coordinator experience• Industrial construction experience strongly preferred• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications• Knowledge of project scheduling, procurement, cost tracking, and subcontractor coordination• Strong organizational and communication skills• Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving abilities• Valid driver's license with the ability to travel to project sites as neededPreferred Project Experience• Industrial Manufacturing Facilities• Process Facilities• Distribution Centers• Warehouses• Food & Beverage Facilities• Pharmaceutical Facilities• Chemical Facilities• Petrochemical Facilities• Energy & Power Generation• Water & Wastewater Plants• Mechanical & Piping Systems• Equipment-Intensive Construction• Plant Expansions• Facility Renovations• Shutdown & Turnaround ProjectsBenefits• Competitive Compensation• Performance Bonus• Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance• 401(k)• Paid Time Off• Paid Holidays• Professional Development & Training• Tuition & Certification Assistance• Vehicle Allowance or Mileage Reimbursement• Long-Term Career Growth• Opportunity to advance into a Project Manager role
