Tactical responsibilities include inventory performance, sending releases to suppliers, managing outside services, cancels/defers, order acknowledgements, and expediting.Essential FunctionsReceive, track and issue materials and supplies using accounting and inventory control systems.Create purchase orders and expedite materials as needed.Evaluate new and support existing vendors to maintain competitive pricing and on time delivery.Oversee and maintain materials data integrity that ERP uses to execute materials activity.Use software tools to generate reports to quantify or improve purchasing / material processes.Assist in resolving non-conforming purchased materials issues with vendors.Serve as escalation point for issues involving inventory.Negotiate, renegotiate, and administer contracts with suppliers, vendors, and other representatives.Other activities as assigned.Education And Experience RequirementsRequires an associate or bachelor’s degree, or equivalent job experienceCPM or CPIM certification is preferred.Knowledge And SkillExperience using an ERP, MRP, or Inventory Management System is desired.Requires a general knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications including Excel, Word, and Outlook.Mathematics — Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.English Language —Ability to read and interpret purchasing related documents such as catalogs, product-related literature, parts and materials specifications, and technical books and/or manuals. Ability to prepare reports, purchase orders and correspondence related to purchasing. Ability to communicate effectively.
