Our platform combines “spatial pooled screening” technology with machine learning to build breakthrough therapies that we believe can meaningfully improve patients’ lives.We are a highly collaborative, interdisciplinary team that moves quickly to bring promising therapies to patients faster.The role:We're looking for a detail-oriented, dependable Lab Operations Intern to help keep our R&D operations running smoothly. This is a hands-on role - you'll be embedded with our science team, ensuring that reagents are stocked, equipment is maintained, and the lab stays organized.You'll take ownership of the day-to-day logistics that are critical to a functioning wet lab: ordering supplies, receiving and storing shipments, maintaining inventory, and helping with bench work. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants direct exposure to a fast-moving biotech lab and is excited to contribute to meaningful research.This position reports to Cassandra Kontur, Principal Scientist.What you’ll do:Own the lab supply chain - audit inventory, place orders, coordinate with vendors and team members, track deliveries, and unpack and store all materials properly including cold storageKeep the lab running smoothly - clean glassware, autoclave materials, aliquot reagents, and maintain an organized, functional workspaceGet hands-on with the science - learn molecular cloning and other molecular biology methods, record experiments in a lab notebook, and collaborate with the team to hit key milestonesMaintain accurate records - track and document all purchases, receipts, and inventoryQualifications:Coursework or degree in biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, or a related life scienceComfortable with basic lab techniques (pipetting, sterile technique)Organized, reliable, and great at following through independentlyStrong communicator - comfortable representing the company with vendorsEnergized by a fast-paced, hands-on environment and quick to pick up new protocolsBonus (not required):Experience with inventory management or procurementPrior exposure to a research or startup environmentExperience with molecular cloning or other molecular biology methodsWho this is great for:A recent graduate (undergraduate or master's program), or current master's program student interested in biotech R&DSomeone considering a career in lab operations, research, or the biotech industryA hands-on person who takes pride in keeping things organized and running smoothlySomeone motivated by helping advance cancer therapiesWhy join us:Work alongside an ambitious, collaborative team at the forefront of cancer therapyGain direct, hands-on experience in a wet lab at an early-stage biotech startupTake on meaningful responsibility from day oneGrow into a larger role over time based on performance and mutual fitTo apply:Send your resume, availability, and a brief note on your interest in lab operations and short/medium-term career goals to jobs@waypointbio.com.
