Field Service Technician

Role OverviewField-based technician responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of water and wastewater treatment systems across municipal and industrial sites. This role involves frequent travel and hands-on work with electrical, mechanical, and automation systems, including PLC and SCADA-controlled equipment.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport startup, commissioning, and servicing of treatment systems in the fieldTroubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and basic controls issues on-siteWork with PLC and SCADA systems to monitor and diagnose system performancePerform preventative maintenance and system checks to ensure uptime and reliabilityRead and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and P&IDsDocument service work and communicate updates to internal teams and customersRequired Qualifications1-3 years of experience in field service, maintenance, or industrial/technical rolesPLC & SCADA knowledge - requiredWorking knowledge of industrial electrical systems (panels, wiring, troubleshooting)Ability to read and understand technical drawings and schematicsComfortable working in industrial environments and outdoor settingsWillingness to travel frequently (regional/national)Valid driver's licensePreferred QualificationsElectrical, controls, or mechatronics training (degree or trade school)Exposure to automation, instrumentation, or process systemsExperience in water/wastewater, utilities, or similar industriesFamiliarity with VFDs, sensors, and industrial communication protocolsIdeal CandidateHands-on, mechanically and electrically inclinedStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsSelf-motivated and adaptable in field environmentsComfortable working independently and customer-facingEnjoys travel and dynamic, site-based work
