Learn more on our Benefits page.ResponsibilitiesThe Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) Auditor and Trainer oversees and performs quality audits designed to facilitate and obtain appropriate physician documentation for any clinical conditions or procedures to support the appropriate severity of illness, expected risk of mortality, and complexity of care of the patient. Educates members of the patient care team regarding documentation guidelines and other special projects designed to add value and reduce risk to the strategies and objectives of the CDI department and Community Health System (CHS). Designs and prepares audit programs, conducts fieldwork, prepares work papers, drafts reports, and follows up on management corrective actions and denials in accordance with professional audit standards. Responsible for on-boarding of new CDIS. This position requires the individual to come onsite quarterly for team meetings.QualificationsEducation One of the following is required:Associate's Degree or higher in NursingDoctor of Medicine (MD) from an accredited medical schoolDoctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical schoolMedical Degree from a foreign medical school with successful completion of the USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 ExamsMaster's Degree in Nursing preferredExperience 5 years of clinical experience in an acute hospital setting with demonstrated expertise in Med/Surg, OB. Trauma, ICU, and/or CCU required. 1 years of Clinical Documentation Improvement experience required. 1 year of auditing and training experience preferred. Smarter DX: Prior experience is a plus but not required, as training will be provided. Experience with Epic and Solventum/Optum is highly desired.Licenses and Certifications One of the following is required:RN - Current and valid Registered Nurse license to work within the state of CaliforniaMD - Doctor of MedicineDO - Doctor of Osteopathic MedicineECFMG - Educational Commission for Foreign Medical GraduatesOne of the following is required:CCDS - Certified Clinical Documentation SpecialistCDIP - Certified Documentation Improvement PractitionerCCS - Certified Coding Specialist preferredDisclaimersPay ranges listed are an estimate and subject to change.
