Job Title: Mechanical / Electrical (Mechatronics) EngineerOverviewWe are seeking a hands-on Mechanical/Electrical (Mechatronics) Engineer with a balanced skill set across mechanical design, electrical systems, and equipment assembly. This role involves subsystem design, prototyping, testing, and supporting machine builds for commercial equipment (e.g., mowers and battery-powered systems).Top Required SkillsProficiency in PTC Creo (3D modeling & drawings)Minimum 2+ years in Mechanical DesignMinimum 2+ years in Electrical DesignAbility to physically assemble, troubleshoot, and repair equipmentStrong understanding of design integration between mechanical and electrical systemsKey ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop mechanical and electrical subsystems for commercial equipmentCreate 3D models, detailed drawings, and manage PDM workflowsSupport electrical components development and testing (e.g., lights, alarms)Perform electrical diagnostics, testing, and data collectionParticipate in machine builds, upgrades, and shop-floor supportCollaborate cross-functionally with Design, Testing, Systems, Marketing, and Program teamsSupport prototype development including brackets, weldments, plastics, and castingsConduct engineering calculations, virtual simulations, and design validationApply design for manufacturability (DFM) and tolerancing principlesProvide field support during product trials and customer feedback activitiesIncorporate user experience and product usage insights into design improvementsPreferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)Experience with John Deere (Deere) or similar off-highway equipmentKnowledge of casting and plastics designExposure to battery-powered systems or electric vehiclesExperience with embedded systems or software developmentBackground in off-highway, turf equipment, or heavy machineryEducationBachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechatronics EngineeringAdditional RequirementsStrong hands-on skills with equipment assembly and troubleshootingAbility to work in lab/shop and field environmentsEffective communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
