Salary Range $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 Salary/year
Description
Purpose and Description: To manage/oversee all functions of shift to maintain production flow and execution of orders, and assist in employee direction. To support department initiatives and continuous improvement that align with Bauers strategy and key performance metrics.
2nd shift: Monday through Thursday 3:00pm - 1:30am
Major Responsibilities:
Provide daily on the floor management to ensure manufacturing tasks are executed efficiently
Responsible for problem solving day to day issues within the areas of production, quality, safety, and personnel and escalating challenges to management
Provide professional leadership with a regular and consistent presence on the floor to support operator needs
Provide transitional shift information to ensure smooth operation through changes between shifts
Responsible for gathering and delivering information to staff and management in a timely manner while ensuring communication is understood by all direct reports
Mentor operators, provides consistent feedback, coaching, and discipline to employees on performance, and conducts performance reviews and 1:1s for direct reports
Assist in troubleshooting machinery
Work with Quality Technicians to prevent operators from making bad parts
Assist in machine setups, material handling and machine debugging/maintenance in order to minimize machine and operator downtime
Be a leader in Safety enforcement and initiatives
Lead by example and a continuous improvement mindset
Other Responsibilities:
Assist in the minimization of indirect labor time by direct labor employees
Demonstrate leadership in areas of conflict resolution, process constraints and effective communication
Identify and develop improvement opportunities
Consult with other shift to ensure production handovers are effective
Analyze production activities, then recommend or implement corrective actions
Recommend measures to improve production methods, procedures, documentation, equipment performance and quality of product
Develop and maintain daily metrics of production goals vs. achievements; analyze shortfalls and document causes
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Manufacturing and 2 years of related experience in a leadership role
Must have strong and effective written and verbal communication skills
Must be able to demonstrate leadership, provide supervision, and effectively delegate prioritized work assignments to staff
Must demonstrate the ability to learn, utilize, and function within the ERP system (Epicor)
Must be organized and efficient, and must be able to meet all deadlines
Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships
Must be able to multi-task and react in a fast-paced environment
Must be able to read and understand blueprints
Must be able to work with tight tolerances in both metric and standard measurements
Knowledge of OSHA regulations
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
May require occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
May frequently require reaching, stooping, walking, bending and standing
Hearing, speaking, seeing
Indoor, seasonally air-conditioned and heated, machine shop environment
Frequent noise
Eye and hearing protection are required in the production area (employer provided).
Tools and Equipment:
CNC machining centers, laser cutting systems & controls, punch presses, drill presses, band saws, cold saws, FARO CMMs, height gages, welders (manual and robotic), tube bending machines, forklifts, cranes, end forming machines, personal computers, phone, printers.
