We're looking for someone as serious about machining as we are about quality.Apply today and take your CNC career to the next axis.Requirements: SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Manufacturing team member who sets up and operates common manual and computer numerically controlled (CNC) shop equipment using drawings, specifications, and prints to produce high-quality work.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: *Must be able to meet all the Essential Duties and Responsibilities of Machinist Class C (#760) and:- Set-up basic manual and CNC machines for production operation - Read and understand drawings and prints to be able to produce parts as required- Make basic adjustments to machine to maintain production rate and quality- Modify existing machine tool programs at control interface- Create basic machining programs using company software programming tools- Inspect part characteristics at in-process and final check points- Assist in teaching and setting-up machines for entry level trainees.- Assist trainees in learning the following:SPECIFIC DUTIES ASSIGNED: Equipment Preparation, Set-up, Operation, Cleaning, and Maintenance supervision and training, learn to safely and competently:Use pressure-regulated air hosesUse saws, sanders, grinders, etc, to prepare and produce rough partsSet up and/ or breakdown basic equipment, fixtures, tooling, etcOperate basic manual and semi-automatic equipment i.e., saws, drill presses, sanders, etcProduce parts within required tolerancesDeburr parts and edges to drawing specifications and shop standardsMaintain clean and organized work areasPerform routine maintenance of machines and auxiliary equipment, including chip barrelsVoucher time accurately for daily work and neatly fill out production forms as requiredQuality Assurance – Inspection, Dimensional Checks, Part Appearance, Conformance.Follow specific written and/or oral instructions to learn to:Meet Quality policy, ISO standard, customer, and company expectationsPrepare and have parts checked for First Piece InspectionKnow how to use measuring equipment to check parts for dimensional characteristicsUnderstand and meet criteria for part cleanliness, uniform finish, and overall appearanceGENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Perform work within the scope of your abilities, and all quality and safety policies and practicesAsk questions and/or ask for assistance before doing a task when uncertainMaintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, co-workers, and management without disruption or conflictPerform other related duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS:Must have ability to conduct work in an organized mannerMust be able to handle and process information in a timely and confidential mannerSufficient ability to read, write and speak in English and be understood; and to follow instructionsMust be able to interact diplomatically with peopleMust be able to read, interpret and understand drawings, routers and process specificationsSufficient visual acuity (corrected) to read instructions, operate machines and visually inspect partsMust be able to receive and understand training by various methods: written, on-the-job, computer, etc.Sufficient manual dexterity to operate machines, equipment, tools, tooling and measuring instrumentsMust be able to produce parts correctly and be able to recognize and fix mistakesMust be able to regularly and consistently meet production and quality performance metricsSufficient physical strength to lift and carry up to forty pounds frequentlyMust be able to understand and successfully complete multiple tasks and projectsMust be able to work independently and make good, sound and timely decisionsMust be able to learn and accurately use company computer software programsMust be able to understand and fully support the company Mission, Safety and Quality policiesEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Must possess and be able to produce a verifiable High School Diploma / GED4-6 years of applicable experience in a manufacturing and/or production environment operating CNC MachineryCERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Not ApplicableUshers Machine and Tool Co., Inc. /Aalberts surface technologies - machining solutions is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to a diverse and inclusive workforce.
