Position DetailsUniversity: University of Colorado | DenverFaculty Level/Title: LecturerWorking Title: Lecturer of ActingFTE: 0.225 per 3 credit courseSalary Range: $5,371.19 per 3 credit coursePosition #: 00605107 (Requisition #38968)Job DescriptionThe Film & Television department within the College of Arts & Media invites dynamic educators and creative professionals to apply to join our collaborative faculty team as a part-time Lecturer specializing in Acting. This position offers an opportunity to inspire and empower tomorrow's filmmakers in the heart of Denver.ResponsibilitiesTeach acting and performance related courses (acting, directing, movement, and/or voice) for film and television.Guide students through real-world projects, helping them develop essential technical and artistic skills.Prepare and deliver lectures, workshops, and grading assignments.Mentor aspiring professionals and contribute to shaping a program known for its collegiality, creative innovation, and commitment to student growth.Teaching load: one or two classes per semester (3–6 credit hours).Minimum QualificationsMFA or BA in Acting.Minimum of 3 years of experience in acting or directing for the screen at the professional level.Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching acting for the screen (high school, college, or community based productions).Preferred QualificationsMFA in Acting.More than 3 years of professional screen acting or directing experience with mastery of professional vocal or physical pedagogies.Experience teaching acting for the screen at the college level.Certifications in Voice (e.g., Linklater, Fitzmaurice) and/or Movement (e.g., Alexander, Laban, Chekhov, Lecoq, Sensory Training).Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesExtensive knowledge of acting for film and television.Ability to bridge traditional conservatory training with film-specific applications.Ability to mentor and inspire students in a dynamic learning environment.Ability to contribute to a collaborative faculty culture.Capacity to help shape the future of a growing program.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Equal Opportunity Employer StatementCU is an Equal Opportunity Employer and complies with all applicable federal, state, and local laws governing nondiscrimination in employment.
