Job Title Math InstructorType Contractor (temporary project), In PersonRate $42 p/h Location Paterson, NJCurriculum & Training Provided Length: 26-28 weeks starting in Mid October 2024 Days/Times: 3:30-5:30 pm Mondays & WednesdaysJob purposeWe are seeking dedicated Math Instructors for our afterschool programs to engage and inspire students in their mathematical learning. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching and the ability to make math enjoyable and accessible for students of varying skill levels. The instructor will be responsible for creating a supportive and dynamic learning environment, helping students build their confidence and proficiency in math through interactive lessons and activities.Duties and ResponsibilitiesExecute lesson plans that help middle school students develop a strong foundation in math skillsAssess student progress and provide feedback to help them improve their mathematical skillsCreate a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters student participation and collaborationCommunicate regularly with staff about student progress and areas for improvementUtilize various teaching methods and resources to accommodate different learning stylesCollaborate with other instructors and staff to enhance the overall afterschool programDemonstrate reliability, punctuality and professional behavior at all timesRepresent Fraser’s Mathematics Solutions in the most positive manner with prospective, former, and current clientsQualifications● NJ teaching certification preferred, but not required.● MUST have experience teaching math at the middle or high school level● Must have previous experience facilitating or instructing groups in a similar roleAdditional Expectations● Must have consistent and reliable access to transportation and be able to travel to designated location● Must be available to commit to scheduled work hours● Must complete training.● Must possess a working laptop● Must possess a passion for helping students learn● Must have the knowledge and skills to help students find new ways to look at difficult problems● Must be able to teach patient problem solving● Must have a positive attitude and implement tools to motivate students and keep them engaged● Must be empathetic with students having difficulties● Must have the ability to adjust teaching methods to meet various learning styles● Must be dressed in professional, casual attire
