Broadcast Traffic ManagerJob SummaryThe Broadcast Traffic Manager is responsible for the accurate scheduling, coordination, and execution of commercial inventory across both radio and television stations. This role ensures advertising spots, programming elements, and daily logs are completed accurately, delivered on time, and maintained in compliance with FCC regulations and company policies. The Broadcast Traffic Manager also leads and manages a team of six traffic staff members, while partnering closely with Sales, Programming, Production, and Finance to maximize revenue, maintain inventory integrity, and support smooth daily station operations.Key ResponsibilitiesCreate, manage, and finalize daily commercial logs for both radio and television stationsSupervise, train, and support a team of six traffic staff, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to deadlinesEnter and maintain advertising orders accurately according to contracts and campaign requirementsMaximize inventory utilization while upholding separation rules, advertiser restrictions, and scheduling guidelinesPartner with Sales to resolve copy issues, makegoods, order revisions, and schedule changesCoordinate with Production to confirm commercials are received, approved, and ready for airReconcile logs daily and correct discrepancies in a timely mannerEnsure compliance with FCC regulations, political advertising requirements, and company policiesMonitor spot delivery and arrange makegoods when neededGenerate and review reports related to inventory, revenue, pacing, and performanceServe as a liaison across departments to resolve traffic and scheduling conflictsOversee traffic systems, such as WideOrbit, and maintain system accuracy and data integrityQualificationsBachelor's degree in Communications, Broadcasting, Business, or a related field preferred3–5 years of broadcast traffic experience in radio, television, or bothPrevious supervisory or team leadership experience preferredStrong working knowledge of traffic systems such as WideOrbit or similar platformsUnderstanding of broadcast logs, spot rotations, inventory management, and placement strategyFamiliarity with FCC regulations and political advertising rulesStrong attention to detail and commitment to accuracyKey SkillsStrong leadership and team management abilitiesExcellent organizational and multitasking skillsStrong communication and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to work effectively under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environmentAnalytical skills related to inventory management and revenue optimizationWork EnvironmentOffice-based within a multi-platform broadcast environment (radio and television)Fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with critical daily log completion timelinesMay require early mornings, late afternoons, or additional hours during political seasons or other peak periodsPhysical RequirementsAbility to sit for extended periods while working at a computerFrequent use of hands and fingers for typing and operating office equipmentAbility to communicate effectively via phone, email, and in personOccasional standing, walking, bending, and reachingAbility to lift and carry up to 15 pounds (e.g., files, office materials)BenefitsHealth, Dental, Vision, and HSA (effective 1st of the month after 30 days; subject to plan terms)Company-paid life insurance and EAP; voluntary short-term disabilityPTO (accrual-based) and company-paid holidays401(k)Equal Employment Opportunity StatementWINK News is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
