DHR Health - US:TX:McAllen - DaysSummary:POSITION SUMMARY:Assists the registered nurse in the provision of nursing care to patients in Radiology by performing routine and delegated duties. Responsible for directing and coordinating all nursing care for departmental specific patients based on established clinical nursing practice standards. Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes. Supports the organization vision and mission. Utilizes knowledge of patient's age and cultural diversity into the provision of patient care. Contributes to the provision of quality nursing care through performance improvement techniques that demonstrate positive outcomes in patient care.POSITION EDUCATION/ QUALIFICATIONS:• Graduate of accredited school of vocational nursing required.• Current licensed vocational nursing license in the State of Texas.• Current BLS certification required.• ACLS required after (6) months of hire• PALS certification preferred.• Willingness to be crossed trained to other areas.• Organizational skills are necessary.• Good written and verbal communication skills required.• Ability to read, write and speak English• Must be able to interact and communicate with all levels of staff, physicians, patients and families in an effective manner.• Exhibits tact, enthusiasm and patience.• Must be sensitive to cultural issues.JOB KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:Six (6) months - One (1) year continuous hospital experience as a LVN is strongly preferred.Experience in Radiology preferred.Essential technical/Motor skills: Able to adjust and/or troubleshoot monitoring equipment and computer equipment.Able to demonstrate high degree of competency and experience with nursing procedures.Demonstrates accuracy, and the ability to closely follow established procedures.Requires reasoning ability and good independent judgment.Requires working with frequent interruptions.Must project a professional image.Exhibits tact, enthusiasm, and patience.Must have excellent customer service skills.High degree of competency/experience in general.Requires good communication and organizational skills.Responsibilities:POSITION RESPONSIBILITES:Promotes the facility mission, vision and values by effectively communicating them to others. Working Conditions: The individual spends over 95% of his/her time in an air-conditioned environment with varying exposures to noise.
