Our pretrial, discovery, trial and appellate efforts are designed to solve clients' problems through a collaborative, results-driven approach.ResponsibilitiesMintz is seeking a special counsel with 7+ years of experience to join our litigation team in New York, Boston, or Washington, DC. Candidates should have an interest in working on insurance and reinsurance disputes and developing pretrial and trial practice. Responsibilities include drafting of complex submissions, preparation of witnesses, expert discovery and trial practice. Many of these disputes are tried in an arbitral setting, which requires advocacy skills. Candidates must be comfortable growing into a role where they will be given significant responsibility. Please note this is a senior off-track position.Collaboration with team members is an important component of any role at Mintz. Therefore, the firm requires working from the office approximately 60% of the time in accordance with the firm's published guidelines.QualificationsGraduated with a JD or LLM from an ABA-accredited law schoolAdmitted or eligible for admission in New York, Massachusetts, or the District of ColumbiaExperience in complex litigation matters and an interest in arbitration trial practiceInsurance/reinsurance background is preferredExcellent written and verbal communication skillsProfessionalism in working and engaging with demanding clientsAbility to balance and prioritize competing priorities and responsibilitiesAbility to stay organized and exercise extreme attention to detailAbility to collaborate and work effectively in team settingsAbout MintzMintz is an Am Law 100 law firm with over 500 attorneys serving clients worldwide.
