PostgreSQL Engineer

Overview As a Database Engineer, you will manage, optimize, and automate PostgreSQL and SQL Server environments to ensure high availability, performance, and scalability. You’ll work closely with application, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to support migrations, upgrades, and security/compliance. The role focuses on automation with Ansible and ongoing health monitoring to drive reliable database operations. ResponsibilitiesInstall, configure, and administer PostgreSQL and SQL Server databases across environmentsPerform database tuning, performance optimization, and query optimizationManage backup, recovery, replication, and high availability setupsAutomate database provisioning and configuration using AnsibleMonitor database health and troubleshoot performance or availability issuesSupport database migrations, upgrades, and patching activitiesWork closely with application, DevOps, and infrastructure teamsEnsure database security, access control, and compliance standards Key requirementsStrong hands-on experience in PostgreSQLMicrosoft SQL ServerWorking knowledge of Oracle (Good to have)Experience with Ansible for database automation and configuration managementScripting with Shell/Python/PowerShell (added advantage)Collaborative cross-functional teamworkProblem solving and proactive troubleshootingSecurity and compliance awarenessPostgreSQLSQL ServerOracle (basic to intermediate)
