Job Description:
Software Developer (Fox Cable Network Services, LLC; Los Angeles, California), responsible for developing and maintaining our Elixir-based distributed systems, ensuring their performance, reliability, and scalability.
Design, build, and maintain high‐performing, reliable, distributed, and scalable systems using Elixir.
Collaborate with other engineers and teams to ensure seamless integration of various components and systems.
Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
Design and implement flexible yet straightforward APIs to be consumed by one of our 20+ platforms.
Improve the throughput, latency, and reliability of services.
Participate in on‐call rotation and contribute to incident reviews.
Stay up to date with the latest Elixir and related technologies and frameworks and contribute to open‐source projects.
Telecommuting permitted pursuant to company policy.
Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science or related field.
Experience Requirements: Four (4) years of experience in the position offered or related occupation.
Required Skills:
- Designing and developing large‐scale distributed systems using Elixir and Phoenix
- Database technologies: Postgres and Redis
- Building near real‐time services that are high‐performing, scalable, and fault‐tolerant
- Setting up instrumentation to capture key metrics for applications and enhance observability into the system
- Developing APIs for use by other system components
- Preparing comprehensive documentation regarding the internal workings of the system and its boundary

Pay & Benefits
Pay range:
$203,140.67 – $223,454.74 annually (final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location).Benefits include medical/dental/vision insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for union‐represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
