Staff Accountant

Position OverviewWe are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Staff Accountant to join our finance team. In this role, you will be a key player in managing our day-to-day financial operations, with a specific focus on the complexities of a manufacturing environment. You’ll handle everything from General Ledger maintenance to inventory valuation, ensuring our financial records are as precise as our production line.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.General Ledger Management: Perform month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.Inventory & Cost Accounting: * Monitor and analyze inventory transactions and variances.Assist in periodic physical inventory counts and cycle counting programs.Collaborate with the production team to ensure accurate bill of materials (BOM) and labor costs.Fixed Assets: Maintain the fixed asset ledger, tracking depreciation for manufacturing equipment and facility improvements.Accounts Payable/Receivable Oversight: Support the processing of vendor invoices and customer collections to ensure healthy cash flow.Audit & Compliance: Prepare schedules and documentation for external audits and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax requirements.Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting workflows and enhance internal controls within the ERP system.QualificationsEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.Experience: 2–4 years of accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing or distribution setting.Technical Skills: * Proficiency in Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and complex formulas).Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or Microsoft Dynamics).Knowledge: Strong understanding of GAAP and cost accounting principles (Standard Costing, FIFO/LIFO).
