Title: AWS-RDS/EDB Postgres EngineerLocation: LAS VEGAS, Nevada (Day1 Onsite)FTE OnlyPosition SummaryThe AWS RDS/Postgres EDB Database Engineer performs independently or as a critical multi-functional team member in identifying, planning, developing, and deploying database applications and other technology solutions that can involve multiple physical locations and business units. The engineer also acts as the single point of contact for Postgres database administration and escalations for the Banking Industry project.Summary Of Essential Job Functions10-12 years of experience in managing Postgres databases (EDB Eco system) . 5 years of experience should be on the cloud version, preferably AWS, with expertise in managing databases as RDS services in AWS, security policy, user authentication, IAM, and database administration in AWS. Install, configure, patch, Migrate, Maintain, and upgrade Open-source Database platforms Databases like PostgreSQL, and AWS RDS.Hands on experience with managing EDB, and AWS Day to Day operations including S3, EC2, etc Should be able to implement effective and maintainable database coding practices that form an architectural foundation.Experience In Postgres SQL Performance Improvement, Indexing/other ApproachesGood experience in partitioning databaseExperience with message queuing, full-text indexing, and other high-performance data concepts.Experience in AWS environment management and knowledge of different tools for the same.Experience in Postgres SQL migration approach from on-prem to AWS and vice versa, estimating it, and technically managing it.Advanced understanding of Linux OS, use SSH to connect to remote systems with password & public/private keysAbility to efficiently write database code without compromising data quality, privacy, or security.Hands-on Experience in Jira, GitHub, Ansible & Terraform.Good understanding of CI/CD using GitLabGood understanding of the Batch process and Job scheduling automationKnowledge of database design principles, query optimization, index management, integrity checks, statistics, and isolation levelsGood troubleshooting skills, Ability to evaluate alternative solutions and/or workarounds 1 Strong analytical, and interpersonal communication skillsMust possess good communication skills, both in verbal and in written form, and be Proficient in identifying, analyzing, and solving problems for Client facing experienceProficient in identifying, analyzing, and solving problems and Client facing experiencePosition RequirementsAWS RDS hands-on experienceCapacity planning, performance assessment of AWS RDSsStrong Postgres/SQL Server DB administration experience in production environmentsConfiguration and support of complex RDS Databases in AWS environment, Configuring and managing high availability, resiliency solutions leveraging Aurora Read replicas & Global DatabaseExperience in managing multiple RDS, database versions on large systemsPractical experience in monitoringKnowledge of reporting and query tools and practicesExperience in using Performance Insights, RDS KPI design and management.Working knowledge of Lambda, PythonStrong technical and functional experience in PostgreSQL Administration and associated tools like PgBouncer, PgPool and other related binaries.
