Reliability Engineer
Overview
As a Reliability Engineer at Lubrizol, you will drive a 3-year Reliability Improvement Plan and develop maintenance strategies for critical equipment and BOP. You’ll apply reliability tools to reduce downtime, improve asset availability, and champion risk-based maintenance aligned with safety and sustainability goals. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to integrate new equipment and monitor performance, delivering tangible reliability gains across the plant. This role offers impact through optimization, RCA/RCM studies, and data-driven improvements in a global context.

ResponsibilitiesPerform criticality screening and risk analysis to identify critical equipment and BOP assetsLead asset strategies aligned with equipment criticality and business needsDevelop and execute 3-year Reliability Improvement Plan and EMS for critical equipmentSelect and implement maintenance strategies; support reviews of PPM effectivenessCollaborate with PPM Coordinator to ensure CMMS documentation of maintenance activitiesMonitor asset reliability, maintenance data, RCA findings and production loss dataFacilitate root cause analysis and RCM studies; implement corrective actionsConduct value engineering for projects and ensure new equipment integrates with systems and processesConduct periodic gap assessments between reliability plans and PPM; optimize spare parts inventoryChampion changes through Management of Change and ensure adherence to safety and operating disciplinesEnsure effective documentation and plant condition monitoring through audits
Key requirementsBachelor's degree in engineering; mechanical engineering preferred5+ years in maintenance or project engineering in a chemical plantProven cross-functional leadership experienceExperience with NFPA-NEC, API, or ASME certificationsBackground in infrared surveys, oil and vibration analysisleadership of cross-functional teamsproblem-solving mindsetcommunication and collaborationRCM toolsWeibull analysisFMEA
