Geiger is seeking a Tax and Treasury Analyst eager to join their fast-paced Finance department! Job Summary Responsibilities include indirect tax compliance and reporting as well as other financial and treasury management operations activities. Collaborate with internal finance staff and external auditors to document and assess policies, procedures, and internal controls, with a focus on reviewing results and recommending improvements applying continuous improvement tools and concepts. Essential Functions Duties include but are not limited to: Financial Operations Document and maintain tax and treasury related policies and procedures Oversee the indirect sales and use tax function Review and prepare Sales & Use Tax returns timely and accurately Partner with sales and operations teams as well as customers on documentation of resale or other exemptions for customers Provide guidance to internal team members and external customers for indirect tax questions Prepare Personal Property tax information and returns Annual report filings Unclaimed property reporting and filing processes. Maintain a calendar for required compliance activities for indirect taxes (including Sales & Use, franchise taxes, and property taxes, unclaimed property, business taxes and licenses) and ensure timely filing Prepare of federal and state income tax workpapers and supporting information Complete registration requirements for newly established entities and updated filing requirements Work directly with auditors to manage audits of indirect tax or other related items Partner with other members of finance on issues which arise in the day-to-day operations Prepare Sales & Use tax and other account reconciliations and analysis Prepare cash reporting, reconciliations, analysis and forecasting Involvement with implementation of indirect tax software and related processes and systems Other duties as assigned Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business administration is required. Working knowledge of Vertex or other indirect/sales tax solutions Knowledge and skills typically associated with at least 3 year of accounting experience required. Proficient with SAP or similar ERP software Proficient with Microsoft Office, query tools and database applications is required. Competencies/Skills High level of competency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, required. Strong multi-tasking skills Strong problem solving skills Excellent written and oral communications are a necessary skill set. Treasury management Inquisitive mindset and willing to dig into details and recommend and implement solutions. Work independently and in groups. Ability to summarize complex issues simply and effectively Physical, Mental and Environmental Requirements Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk or computer Typing and using a computer keyboard for extended periods. Answering phone calls and communicating with customers via email. Mental Requirements: Ability to concentrate for extended periods of time paying close attention to detail. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and manage time effectively. Environmental Requirements: Working indoors in a typical office environment Use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and printers. Interaction with team members and possibly occasional interactions with customers in person, via phone, or email. Certification Requirement Industry certification at the CAS (Certified Advertising Specialist) Level CPA, CTP, or similar professional designation preferred. Supervisor Responsibilities: Provides daily supervision of the sales and use tax team Provides technical guidance to management Provide training and guidance to other finance associates
