Title: Software Developer - Identity and Access Management (IAM)Location: Hybrid - Tysons Corner, VA, Three days per week onsiteDuration: FulltimeClearance: U.S. Citizenship is required. Must be able to obtain public trust clearance.Position Overview:Support a project to plan and implement Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for web-based applications as part of Operations & Maintenance (O&M) for a federal government client. The ideal candidate will have relevant development experience, hand-on with identity provider (IdP) solutions (e.g., AWS Cognito, Okta, Microsoft Entra ID, and/or Login.gov), understanding of cloud architecture, strong collaboration and communication skills, and the ability to manage complex work activities in a deadline-driven environment. What They’ll Be Doing:In collaboration with the Project Manager, Development Lead, and team members, the Software Developer – IAM will help to plan, design, and prototype the implementation of secure user authentication mechanisms for web-based applications. The primary focus of this role is to deliver a robust MFA solution leveraging industry available and a customer preferred IdP solution. The ideal candidate will have expertise in identity and access management, cloud-based authentication services, and secure application development. Required Education, Experience, and Skills:Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field with five (5) or more years of relevant experience in an Enterprise IT environment OR No Bachelor’s Degree with seven (7) or more years of relevant experience in an Enterprise IT environmentProficiency in one or more languages: JavaScript/TypeScript (Node.js, React, Angular), Java / Spring Boot, Python, JSONProject experience developing and integrating user authentication workflow with web-based applicationsUse of Active Directory with connection to Federated sources and single sign on (SSO)Knowledge and implementation of MFA solutions, specifically AWS Cognito, Okta, Microsoft Entra ID, and/or Login.govExperience with DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, and version controlKnowledge and management of AWS GovCloud services, specifically Cognito, Lambda, S3, EC2, and API GatewaySoftware delivery using the Agile Scrum or Kanban methodology via JiraExcellent communication skills (both verbal and written) plus Active listening skillsAbility to discuss technical issues with non-technical government officialsAbility to problem-solve and develop solutions to complex business needs Preferred Education, Experience, and SkillsExperience building and integrating RESTful APIsExperience implementing password policies and account recovery flowsKnowledge of secure web practices: HTTPS, CORS, CSRF protection, secure storage of tokensFamiliarity with implementing phishing-resistant MFA protocols, including PIV/CAC integration or authentication standardsAWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Developer or Solutions Architect)If you're interested, please do share your resume at asingh@reqtstaffing.com
