Picking Team - Level 1

Position SummaryThis position supports the warehouse, combining shipping and forklift job responsibilities. When performing as a shipper, the employee is responsible for all aspects of distributing our product to all accounts in an accurate, efficient, safe, and timely manner. While performing as a forklift/reach truck driver, the employee is responsible for operating equipment safely and on time to complete the tasks received. This job involves 75% shipping/ picking and 25% Forklift/reach truck driving.Job DutiesShipper and Sit-Down forklift /Reach Truck Operator Job Duties: Key Responsibilities- ShippingMaintain on-hand stock packaging supplies and inventory.Ensure products are properly staged in designated areas for shipment.Pick, pack, and ship orders in an accurate and efficient manner.Assist with unloading inbound shipments when needed.Perform inventory cycle counts as needed.Manually move stock and other materials and perform other unskilled labor.Look for ways to improve quality, efficiency, safety, and workflow.Meets productivity standards. Completes work in a timely manner.Reports on potentially unsafe conditions.Key Responsibilities- Sit down Forklift/Reach Truck Be able to complete and pass forklift and reach truck test.Operate a sit-down forklift /reach truck around the facility to place pallets in designated areas.Load and unload trucks.Complete basic Forklift/ reach truck inspection and sign-off sheet.Stacks loads in the correct storage sections.Practice forklift safety when driving around the warehouse.Maintain production levels.Safety Compliance Specific Job DutiesKey Responsibilities- Workers’ Compensation ManagementFollow safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and maintain a safe working environment.Practice housekeeping inside the warehouse by following 5S standards.Maintain organization and cleanliness of the warehouse/workstation, adhering to safety and compliance standards.Other Engaging in bending, stooping, or walking materials between different locations.Meeting physical demands, including standing, walking, lifting, and bending.Lifting objects weighing a maximum of 40 pounds.Demonstrating specific visual abilities like close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.Performing any other duties as required.QualificationsEDUCATION & EXPERIENCEHigh School Diploma or equivalentAccomplishment of level 1’s DSA trainingCOMPETENCIESEffective prioritization skillsExceptional verbal and written communication abilitiesOutstanding organizational skills with great attention to detailExcellent time management skills, coupled with the ability to meet deadlinesAbility to work under pressure and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.Demonstrated interpersonal skills when collaborating with different departmentsMust be able to complete and past a sit-down forklift / Reach Truck test.COMPUTER PROGRAMSRF Scanner experienceProficiency in Microsoft Suite applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) is a Plus.
