This role ensures that patients, families, and significant others receive individualized high-quality, safe patient care. The clinical environment is administered by Nurse Managers and supported through a shared governance model. Care practices are guided by a professional practice model and evidence-based practice and research. All RN Clinical Nurses are expected to be licensed, knowledgeable, and uphold nursing practices as outlined by the professional nurse practice act. Nurses will implement the scope of practice and code of ethics standards as presented by the nursing association. As a part of the patient services team, individuals uphold the voice of the patient and support service excellence goals. Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions: The role encompasses performing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, and care planning. Clinical care is delivered using evidence-based practice and analytical thinking, ensuring individualized patient care. Providing relationship-based patient-centered care that adapts to the unique characteristics of each patient. Partnership with patients and significant others is essential, utilizing appropriate communication methods. Coordination of the delivery and documentation of safe, quality patient care is critical. Participation in performance improvement initiatives is encouraged, promoting safe, quality patient care. Engagement in research, utilizing evidence-based practice, and active participation in shared governance is required. Completion of ongoing professional competency assessments and required education is mandatory. The RN Clinical Nurse also serves as a preceptor or mentor for other nursing staff and students. Promoting evidence-based practice and participating in decision-making regarding patient care products is integral. The role includes proactive planning for patient care across the continuum. Participation in the development of protocols and procedures is necessary to achieve best practice outcomes. Compliance with organizational policies and standards is required, ensuring safety and quality in patient care. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
