Miftek is a Purdue Research Park company that designs state of the art instrumentation for life science and diagnostics. This rapidly expanding company has been awarded several key patents in the fields of cytometry, spectroscopy, and photonics. We are now developing a novel solution for single cell analysis. Our facility located in West Lafayette has easy access to campus, shopping, and downtown.RoleA full-time Electrical Engineer will be integral to developing our newest technology to the point of commercialization. They will contribute to the planning, design, and testing of hardware platforms that meets the high standards of performance required to compete in our industry. In this startup environment, they will have the opportunity to branch out and develop a broad electronics skillset.ResponsibilitiesImplement new controls, sensing, power, and other types of circuits within our instrumentsDesign PCBs incorporating MCUs, PLDs, serial comms, ADCs, and power.Improve the performance of existing designs in terms of bandwidth, SNR, reliability, etc.Assist in the testing and bring-up of new hardwareProactively identify requirements and critical issues in our electronics designsHelp coordinate electronic component sourcing and board manufacturingParticipate in design review for all aspects of our electronicsQualificationsBS or MS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree4+ years of professional experience is idealAble to design, simulate, prototype, and troubleshoot electronic circuitsDemonstrable experience with many-layer PCB layoutAble to work cohesively with electrical, firmware, and mechanical teamsAble to gain a deep understanding of our core technologyExperience in any of the following areas may be of benefit, but is not required: Photonics (lasers, high power LEDs, photodiodes, PMTs) Electromechanical design Firmware / FPGA design RF test and measurement Physical simulations (thermal, electromagnetic, etc.)Employees of Miftek receive competitive salaries, full health coverage, 401k, and excellent leave, as well as opportunities to attend technology conferences.
