Packing Operative

Role OverviewStaffpower Group are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Packer to join our clients warehouse team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing products for shipment, ensuring accuracy and quality standards are met. The position is paid and suitable for individuals who thrive in organised settings and possess a strong work ethic.Key Responsibilities Carefully select and handle materials for packing using appropriate techniques to prevent damage during transit. Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely to load and unload goods as required. Utilise warehouse management systems to track inventory, update stock levels, and manage order fulfilment. Prepare orders by picking items from storage areas, ensuring correct quantities and specifications are met. Pack products securely using suitable packaging materials, adhering to quality control standards. Manage shipping and receiving processes, including verifying incoming shipments and preparing outgoing consignments. Stock shelves efficiently, maintaining organisation for quick retrieval of items. Conduct quality checks on packed goods to ensure compliance with company standards before dispatch. Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workspace in accordance with health and safety regulations. Load and unload lorries or delivery vehicles, ensuring items are handled safely and efficiently.Skills & Experience Required Previous warehouse experience is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate. Familiarity with materials handling equipment such as forklifts is advantageous; certification is desirable but not mandatory. Knowledge of warehouse management systems or inventory software will be beneficial. Experience in shipping & receiving operations, picking & packing, or stock management is highly regarded. Mechanical knowledge or experience with quality control processes will be considered an asset. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during loading/unloading tasks is required. Candidates should demonstrate organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
