HVAC Service Technician

Popa Heating & Cooling is looking for an Experienced HVAC Service Technician to join our team! The ideal candidate must have a strong background in HVAC technology, be able to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair HVAC systems, and have a working knowledge of electrical systems and wiring diagrams. Service Technicians should also be able to perform preventative maintenance on equipment to keep customers' systems running at peak efficiency for the season. Responsibilities: Service, repair, and/ or maintain heating, ventilation, ductless split systems, humidification and dehumidification equipment, air purification systems, residential control systems, and air conditioning systems Cleaning, adjusting, and repairing systems, and performing warranty services Performing emergency repairs promptly and efficiently Test each system after service/repair to ensure the system is functioning properly Explain to customers services provided and repairs performed Inspect the area for cleanliness after job completion Maintain a courteous demeanor with all customers Interested candidates should have: A valid driver's license and clean driving record Solid communication skills and customer service skills Knowledge of the fundamentals of operational functionality of residential and light commercial HVAC equipment. 2-3 years of HVAC Service background Physical requirements: Ability to stand, walk, and climb ladders and stairs Ability to work in confined spaces and maneuver in attics, basements, and crawl spaces to access HVAC units Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl Popa Heating & Cooling is a family-owned company that has been providing top-quality services in Northwest Indiana since 1968. We install and service traditional gas furnaces, air conditioning units, heat pumps, mini splits, boilers, and Roof Top units. Must be able to function well as part of a team, prioritize, and execute tasks with a sense of urgency. We provide a minimum of 40 hours of additional training per year. The ideal candidates would be available to work 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday with possible rotating on call.
