Field Inspector - Solar
*Partner with Inspectify | 1099 Solar Inspector | Flexible Schedule*
_Looking for solar installers, electricians, and inspectors with solar & electrical experience. No state license required, but real solar and electrical knowledge is a must._
Inspectify is a national platform that connects independent field inspectors with property inspection work from institutional investors, property managers, and insurance carriers. We handle client acquisition and billing — you show up to the property and complete the job through our app.
*This is a paid trade role for solar and electrical pros, not a general inspector gig.* Our app uses a structured checklist — but to complete it accurately and safely, you need to _know what you're looking at_ on a solar array, main panel, and inverter. If you're not comfortable pulling a deadfront on a live 200A panel, identifying an FPE or Zinsco panel on sight, reading an inverter fault code, or assessing MC4 connector seating on a rooftop array, this role isn't for you.
*You're a great fit if you have experience as a:*
* Solar PV installer (residential rooftop)
* Licensed or journeyman electrician with solar exposure
* Solar O&M technician
* Insurance adjuster with solar or electrical specialty
* Home inspector with solar certification (NABCEP, InterNACHI Solar, etc.)
* Retired or unlicensed electrical contractor
*You should be comfortable identifying and assessing:*
* Solar array components: modules, racking rails, clamps, lag bolts, flashing, grounding hardware, MC4 connectors, junction boxes, conduit runs
* Panel-level defects: cracks, delamination, snail trails / PID, discoloration, burn marks, frame corrosion
* Main service panels — including safely removing the deadfront to photograph bus bars, breakers, grounding/neutral connections, and interconnection method (tap, breaker, or bus bar)
* Recognizing hazardous panel brands on sight (Zinsco, FPE, Pushmatic, fuse boxes)
* Subpanels — feeder sizing, grounding separated from neutral, connected battery systems
* Inverters — reading nameplate labels, indicator lights, display status, fault codes, AC/DC disconnect positions, rapid shutdown labeling
* Solar-related roof damage: mount flashing, sealant failure, shingle lifting around mounts, conduit penetration seals
* Attic-side evidence: water staining at mounts, daylight at penetrations, lag bolts seated in rafters
* Shading sources and estimating shaded percentage of an array
