Scientist I or II - Biologics Downstream Process Development - FSP

We are looking to fill a Scientist 1 or 2 - Biologics Downstream Process Development position working as a full-time employee of Parexel FSP on long-term assignment onsite at one of our clients located in Rahway, NJ. This position offers full benefits, sick time, 401K, paid holidays, and paid time off. This role does not offer sponsorship.Qualifications - B.S./M.S. in chemical engineering, biological sciences, microbiology, structural biology, or related fieldand relevant years of experience as listed belowScientist 1 - B.S. with 0-1 years of experienceScientist 2 - B.S. with 1-2 years of experience; M.S. with 0-1 yearsRequired Skills And ExperienceBasic understanding of biochemical/biophysical properties of proteinsKnowledge of analytical characterization methods for proteins, particularly HPLC or UPLC-based separations methods such as size exclusion or ion exchange chromatographyStrong organizational skills with the ability to multitaskAbility to work within a team environmentRigorous documentation of data in electronic lab notebooks is a requirementDesired Skills And ExperienceKnowledge or experience with lab automation tools like robotic liquid handlers such as TECANKnowledge or experience with purification unit operations (chromatography, filtration)ResponsibilitiesIndependently execute high-throughput chromatographic purification to support process development of programs at various stages in the pipelineComplete analytical characterization of purified samples using HPLC/UPLC based methodsPerform lab scale chromatography and filtration experimentsDocumentation of results in laboratory notebooks and contribute to technical reportsCollaborate with upstream and downstream process development and process analytical groups, coordinating submission schedules with multiple stakeholdersContribute to a safe and compliant laboratory work environmentAbout ParexelParexel FSP includes the CMC Operations group.
