Plant Maintenance Repairman 2nd Class
Job Summary
Under general supervision, the Plant Maintenance Repairman 2nd Class performs skilled and unskilled work involving the repair and maintenance of painted structures, plumbing fixtures, buildings, wood work and water plants. Work may be assigned on the basis of an employee's major area of skill but an employee in this class is expected to perform work in a variety of general maintenance areas; performs other related work as required.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Inspects, replaces, repairs and maintains all boiler fireside refractory and brickwork; cleans water walls, floor tiles, super heaters.
Erects and removes internal and external scaffolding
Maintains the intake structure, trash rack, sluice ways and drainage
Cleans and maintains drainage and sewer lines; repairs or replaces windows, doors, gutters, etc., as necessary; cleans and replaces all air condition filters on routine schedules.
Performs building maintenance work such as painting, carpentry, masonry, and plumbing as required; operates a variety of power tools and shop equipment to include forklift, man lift and high pressure washer
Cleans condensers and evaporators on the water plants; cleans up plant site and removes garbage to the dump.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Working knowledge of one or more of the building trades.
Ability to repair maintains and cleans a variety of plant fixtures and equipment; ability to operate fuel or other automotive equipment; skilled in the use of a variety of bench and hand tools.
Education & Experience
High school diploma including or supplemented by courses in the building trades, and two (2) years of experience in carpentry, plumbing, and masonry or building maintenance work.
