12N Horizontal Construction Engineer Job Overview: As a Horizontal Construction Engineer, you'll operate heavy construction equipment like bulldozers, tractors, backhoes, cranes, excavators, and road graders to help pave the way for fellow Soldiers and to make room for construction projects. Without safe roads to travel, it's hard for Soldiers to move around, especially in unfamiliar territory. You'll also assist Army engineers to analyze construction site needs and transport heavy construction equipment from one site to another. Requirements A U.S. Citizen or permanent resident with a valid Green Card 17 to 34 Years Old High School Diploma or GED Meet Tattoo Guidelines No Major Law Violations No Medical Concerns Testing & Certifications 100 Nationally Recognized Certifications Available 10 weeks of Basic Training 9 weeks of Advanced Individual Training 85 ASVAB Score: General Maintenance (GM) Skills You'll Learn Vehicle Operations Maintenance & Repairs Engines & Machinery More To Consider The Army Civilian Acquired Skills Program (ACASP) can reduce the length of your initial training and streamline your assignment process so you can start your Army career sooner.
