Responsible for managing others and applying operational and strategic management skills. Responsible for collaborating with senior leaders and other business leaders to develop strategic and financial objectives and for leading the execution of those objectives.Team And Operational Management ResponsibilitiesAccountable for the performance and results of the Payments division.Conduct the performance management process, identify training and development needs, and establish performance standards for the Practice.Hiring, performance reviews, pay decisions, and development.Executes business plans and contributes to the development of functional strategy.Responsible for assessing opportunities to streamline processes and implement changes via system enhancements and/or automation, as appropriate.Proactively build relationships and partner with capability teams to uncover opportunities and develop strategies to improve service.Major DutiesGuided by the larger Cash Management organization functional strategy, has broad impact on the Payments functional, divisional, and regional resultsDefine the function and necessary production organization to carry out business objectivesProactively research and coordinate enhancements and transformationSupport Cash Management Business in providing new ideas and thought leadership to benefit Northern TrustResponsible for maintaining quality service with future considerationsEnsure changes match industry trends and client expectations in terms of partnering with technology and service deliveryEffectively manage financial health of the practice and remain in budgetAdvocate for cost-effective strategies that meet client needsIdentify opportunities for continuous efficiencies, scale, and valueOrganize the functional Payments work from a process and locational regulatory standpointResponsible for control and risk management; Provide overall risk, control, and operational resiliencyProvide input to Talent Decisions as related to upskilling the function from a service perspectiveEffectively manage change and transformation objectivesPoint of contact for issues specific to functions under managementCoordinate operational response to complex issuesAccountable for delivering quality solutions with an eye to the future of expense management and client service deliveryCollaborate with other Practice Execs and capabilities to deliver and overall seamless operational offeringCollaborate closely with Relationship Managers to identify issuesCoordinate response between operational teamsLiaise between stakeholders and operational leaders on recurring issuesKnowledgeBroad Cash Management industry knowledge and awareness to drive financial performanceRequires deep functional knowledge of the entire Payments ecosystem, including but not limited to: Payments and Cash, Wires, ACHRequires strong leadership and forethought to lead the functionRequires deep process and operations management experienceRequires thought leadership and the ability to bring new ideas to the functionExperienceStrong process and operations management with the ability to lead through subordinate managersLarge-stream group managementCash Management and Payments Operations experienceExperience contributing to the development of functional/operational long-term strategy and developing business plans to ensure alignmentEnergy and Passion to drive the function forwardWorking With UsAs a Northern Trust partner, greater achievements await.
