The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant’s years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices.What You Will DoProvide assistance within the Hospital gift shops by performing retail store duties.Preferred QualificationsH.S. Diploma or Equivalent1 Year Retail experience.Experience working with volunteers.Essential FunctionsCustomer service Responds to customer inquiries regarding merchandise and store services, both in person and on the phone. Exhibit excellent public relations skills at all times in dealing with volunteers, customers, employees and physicians. Conduct is consistent with goals and expectations of the hospital administration and Auxiliary board.Other duties Provides clerical assistance as necessary (data entry, accounts payable, post deposits, etc.). Exhibits a spirit of cooperation and teamwork. Takes initiative to get jobs done and problems solved without being asked. Utilizes time between workloads to assist volunteers and co-workers.Merchandising Unpack, check-in, price new merchandise, and stock shelves. Maintains appearance of counters and shelves. May arrange product displays when asked. Assists in conducting inventory of physical merchandise. Assist with monitoring inventory and purchasing as needed.Cash handling Performs retail cashier duties for the shop; totals customer purchases and applicable tax and employee or volunteer discounts; handles both cash and credit transactions and makes change; bags merchandise. Count and tally daily receipts of money when on duty.Volunteer support Develop and maintain good rapport with volunteer personnel. Help volunteers feel valued and appreciated. May assist with training volunteers.Knowledge, Skills, And AbilitiesAbility to initiate and use good judgment as required to forecast and respond to customer needs and ensure customer satisfaction.Ability to be detail oriented.Tact and diplomacy skills are required when dealing with customers and vendors and in the supervision of volunteers.Flexibility and adaptability are desired, ability to work nights and weekends as needed.Must be able to make a decision and work independently.Some computer knowledge required.Sharp HealthCare is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
