Newscast Producer
We are looking for a dynamic producer for a Washington, D.C.-based national morning newscast. The goal is to offer audiences on multiple platforms coverage that matters—news that impacts their lives and cannot be found elsewhere.
Essential Duties and Requirements
Exemplary verbal and written communication skills
Energy and positivity
Ability to take direction and work efficiently during breaking‑news events
Strong teamwork skills
Self‑starter who generates story ideas daily
Video editing proficiency for news stories
Graphic creation for newscast segments
Ability to work under deadlines and on a flexible schedule
Contribute story ideas to daily editorial meetings
Conduct interviews via phone, email, Skype, or other methods when required
Participate in regular content‑planning meetings
Post content on assigned digital platforms daily
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum of three (3) years producing engaging television newscasts at commercial news operations
Excellent communication skills
Ability to learn and execute news strategies and goals in daily newscasts
Flexibility and on‑the‑spot problem‑solving abilities
Journalism degree preferred
Proficiency with non‑linear editing (e.g., Avid) and newsroom systems such as iNews
