Overview As a Senior Process Engineer at Stantec Buildings, you will lead the design and delivery of process and utility systems for high-purity industrial facilities. You will provide technical leadership across project phases, guiding multidisciplinary teams to deliver client-focused solutions. The role combines design, documentation, and construction support with opportunities to mentor colleagues and shape scalable, innovative facility designs. Compensation / Benefitsmedical, dental, and vision plans401(k)employee stock purchase programpaid holidaysvacation accrualtuition reimbursement ResponsibilitiesLead the design and delivery of process and utility systems for semiconductor, advanced manufacturing, biopharmaceutical, and other industrial facility projectsProvide technical leadership, mentorship, and oversight from concept through construction and closeoutDevelop and oversee engineering deliverables including design packages, calculations, reports, and documentationResolve complex engineering challenges to ensure high-quality client outcomesCollaborate with clients, multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and partners to deliver efficient facility designsGuide process engineering teams through project execution, resource planning, and staff developmentDesign and evaluate critical systems (ultrapure water, process water, wastewater, chemical delivery, gas distribution, process exhaust)Create and review process diagrams, P&IDs, equipment layouts, hydraulic models, pipe stress analyses, and system designsTranslate complex engineering concepts into clear documentation for informed decisionsContribute to strategic initiatives advancing process engineering capabilitiesSupport occasional domestic and international travel for project needs Key requirementsPE licensure or ability to obtain PE within 6 months (preferred)Knowledge of critical process and utility systems (ultrapure water, RO, deionization, process water, wastewater, specialty waste, high-purity chemical delivery, gas distribution, process exhaust, mechanical utilities)Strong knowledge of industry codes, standards, safety practices, and regulatory requirementsAbility to translate technical concepts for clients and non-technical stakeholdersAbility to balance technical excellence with schedule, budget, and quality across projectsExperience with process diagrams and P&IDs using Revit, AutoCAD, or Bluebeam; reviewing using Bluebeam and NavisworksStrong verbal and written communication; proficiency with Microsoft OfficeBachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field; 7+ years in process systems for semiconductor, petrochemical, biopharmaceutical or similar industriesExperience leading deliverables and coordinating with multidisciplinary teamsExperience supporting project delivery from design through construction preferredstrong communicationmentorship and leadershipclient coordinationultrapure water systemsreverse osmosisdeionization
