Piper Medical ClinicPhysician AssistantDepartment: Medical ClinicJob SummaryThe Physician Assistant (PA) provides comprehensive, patient-centered medical care in an outpatient clinic serving uninsured and underserved populations. The PA practices medicine under the supervision of a licensed Arizona physician within a team-based care model and in accordance with Arizona statutes, administrative rules, and clinic policies. The PA delivers high-quality care while supporting clinic quality standards, patient safety, and regulatory compliance. This position may require travel between clinic locations to support operational and patient care needs.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvide direct patient care including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up under physician supervision and delegated authorityPerform medical histories and physical examinations and develop evidence-based treatment plans in collaboration with the supervising physicianOrder, interpret, and manage laboratory tests, imaging, and diagnostic studies as delegatedPrescribe medications and therapies in accordance with Arizona law, physician delegation agreements, and clinic policyProvide preventive care, chronic disease management, and patient educationCoordinate referrals and collaborate with supervising physicians and interdisciplinary care team membersMaintain timely, accurate documentation in the electronic health record (Athena-aligned)Complete medication reconciliation, problem list updates, and health maintenance activitiesParticipate in quality improvement initiatives, chart reviews, and patient safety activitiesAdhere to all supervision, consultation, and documentation requirements established by Arizona law and clinic protocolsQualificationsMaster’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant programCurrent certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)Active, unrestricted Arizona Physician Assistant licenseDEA registration or eligibilityAbility to practice within a physician-supervised and delegated care modelPolicyAdvancement is based on demonstrated competencies, level of responsibility, and performance expectations rather than length of service.
