Job Title: Tool Maker Location: Ash Flat, AR (100% Onsite) Duration: 3 Months Contract Pay Range: $25.00 to $32.00 per hour on W2 Description:Sets up, operates and adjusts all types of standard or specialized machine tools and uses hand tools to construct, alter, repair or maintain moderately complexMust be proficient with our most current control logic and platform.Special production parts, model parts for prototype equipment, test and special equipment components requiring precise interrelated tolerances.Development models and parts for new equipment undergoing design.Specialized machinery used in production. Constructs, alters, repairs, or maintains moderately complex tooling specialized handling devices, and mechanized tooling to support new manufacturing technologies.Works to +/- .001 tolerances or closer.Suggest and help implement process improvements to ensure that quality objectives are met. In addition, ensure adherence to ISO documentation on equipment calibration. Responsibilities:Sets up, operates and adjusts all types of machine tools in performing moderately complex assignments requiring a high degree of accuracy and precision on products having interrelated dimensions.Use hand tools and measuring instruments to meet dimensions, tolerances, and fit as required. Works from routings, blueprints, engineering and quality specifications and verbal instructions. and occasionally designer rough sketches.May develop rough sketches and fabricates appropriate hardware based on information provided by Engineers and/or Designers.Makes recommendations to designers and engineers for design improvements.Meets costs, schedule and quality objectives for all assigned jobs. Occasionally estimates these items.Determines method and sequence of machining operation required, and upon completion assembles and adjusts final product.Suggest appropriate material for assignment based on knowledge of material qualities and application, as well as understanding sound heat treat techniques.Expected to coordinate moderately complex assignments.Tests and debugs completed equipment and communicates with appropriate function to document necessary changes.As necessary, designs and builds special temporary tooling to assist in making the part.Recognizes the need for and actively participates in the maintenance of tools and machines used in performing job responsibility.May provide technical assistance to other tool and model making personnel on difficult operations and setups.Maintains awareness of and adheres to all location safety and security procedures and practices. Keeps work area and equipment clean and organized.Works from a variety of engineering and quality documents which define the desired product with considerable latitude in the selection of equipment and sequence of machining. Must have:Requires a specialized knowledge of mechanical drawing and principles of design, advanced shop mathematics, and related physical sciences, i.e. properties of materials, metallurgy, metrology, etc.Must possess a comprehensive knowledge of machine shop principles, theory and practices on all types of machine tools.Also requires knowledge of hand tools and measuring instruments.To perform minimum position requirements satisfactorily requires a full knowledge of the various production machine capabilities and limitations, the application of the machine shop principles and knowledge of properties of various metals and plastics.To achieve such experience requires a minimum of four years, (but typically 5 - 6 years) of experience in a variety of tool, model or parts making assignments. Requires analyses and interpretation of drawings and moderately complex blue prints.Good communication skills with engineering, tool designers, manufacturing, and manufacturing engineering personnel to exchange information or receive clarification's of the design spec's or concepts to complete job assignment.Requires a very high degree of precision and control in work where damage could be high and where
