Production Planner/Scheduler
Summary: Effectively plans and implements work for assigned production shops ensuring parts or materials and manpower are available for the shop to perform the work. Process engineering changes for assigned shops and coordinates into production when appropriate. Performs capacity analyses by specific work center and helps to make capital equipment recommendations with collaboration of the Production Manager. Provides other support to production and management as required.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Reviews all plans within responsibility area on a periodic basis. Makes decisions to release, firm, cancel, or defer work based upon current inventory, demand, capacity, and material availability. Responsible for maintaining appropriate inventory levels of parts and raw materials to include managing safety stock and min/max levels
Oversee the Manufacturing workflow and coordinate processes from order entry to shipment; informs Manufacturing management when processes will not meet target
Plans engineering changes to ensure ECN instructions are clear and compiled with; works with Production and Purchasing to stop procurement of material affected by change, keeps designated engineers informed of ECN implementation status; coordinates proper rotation of inventory to minimize scrap/reworked parts at incorporation time
Conducts capacity analyses by specific work center/machine to determine the need for additional tools/capital equipment. Ensures capacity plan is followed. Troubleshoots potential capacity issues on an ongoing basis
Forecasts, Wait/Work Boards, and Method Sheets to ensure the highest quality and linearity are attainable to production
Utilizes ERP system to plan and schedule production runs
Responsible for accuracy of raw material and regularly performs cycle counts on raw stock and makes adjustments when necessary

Education and Experience:
BS degree in Industrial or Business Management/Engineering plus 1-2 years of experience in purchasing, production planning, inventory control or related experience in a fabrication manufacturing environment
Knowledge of manufacturing, quality control, and planning processes. ERP experience a plus. Ability to understand manufacturing engineering processes and to read and interpret blueprints. Must possess good mathematical skills and the ability to communicate orally and in writing

Pay: $69,715.00 - $75,869.00 per year
