Construction Contractor is a reputable construction company specializing in commercial projects across California located in North Bay. We are committed to delivering high-quality projects on schedule and within budget through collaboration, planning, and execution.The Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for projects. This role plays a critical part in the bidding process by analyzing plans, specifications, and requirements, coordinating with subcontractors and suppliers, and ensuring all bid components are complete and submitted on time.Responsibilities:Review project plans, requirements and specificationsPrepare accurate quantity takeoffs and accurate cost estimatesCoordinate subcontract solicitations and job walksDetermine labor, material, and equipment costsPrepare conceptual estimatesMaintain bid schedules and ensure timely submissionsCompare and analyze competitive trade bidsReview preliminary quotes and pre-bid estimates with Project ManagerSecure all bid documents (bid forms and quote letters)Prepare subcontractor bid list and submit drawings to subcontractorsCompile and complete all bid documents, including bid forms and quote packagesAssist project teams with estimate related questions after awardPerform post-bid buyouts (if applicable)Maintain good relationship with suppliers and subcontractorsSupervise and train estimating staff (if applicable)Complete other responsibilities as assignedRequirements:Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent combination of education and experienceMinimum 5 years Estimating experienceAbility to read and understand specifications and drawingsAbility to make accurate judgments and calculationsWorking knowledge of construction costs and principlesEstimating experience (quantity takeoffs, purchasing accounting; engineering design knowledge and project management experience desirable)Drafting and computer skillsThis position requires full time onsite presence.
