The Millwright plays a vital role in the assembly, installation, and maintenance of machinery and equipment. This position reports to the Foreman and is not responsible for the oversight of other teammates. This is a full-time, hourly non-exempt position. Your RoleRead and interpret blueprints, schematics and detailed repair drawings related to construction equipment and machineryRigging, moving, and setting machinery and equipment on padsSetting and alignment of baseplates associated with machineryThe alignment and coupling of machinery and motor shaftsAdjustment and installation of vibration isolationLayout and setting of templates associated with setting equipment baseplatesRigging and setting of machinery, pumps, equipment, and process storage tanksAlign machines and equipment using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, plumb bobs etc.Move machinery and equipment using hoist, dollies, rollers, and trucksRepair and lubricate machines and equipmentAssemble machines, and bolt, welt, rivet or otherwise fasten them to foundation or other structures using hand tools and power tools Your Education and ExperienceExtensive knowledge of construction equipment and machineryHigh School or Vocational and or relevant work experienceMinimum of 5 years' experience within the construction industryExperience in wastewater and water treatment plants highly preferred What You Bring to the TeamProven ability to excel in a fast-paced environmentStrong team player with a positive attitude Adapts to changes in the work environmentFollows instructions, responds to management directionHard working and motivatedUnderstands the importance of upholding OSHA safety practices at all times Work Environment/Physical DemandsAbility to lift 50 poundsAbility to stand for extended periods of time, and safely maneuver around the nearby presence of various construction equipment and vehicles, on an active construction sitePrepared to regularly encounter moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, and a variety of outside weather conditionsAble to climb temporary or permanent stairs, and laddersAble to bend, squat, kneel, crawl, crouch, balance, and stoop, reach on a regular basisSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus Travel Job posting location does not guarantee that the position will be in that location; Methuen Construction has jobs throughout New England, and travel may be required, with occasional out of state and overnight travel.
