Job Description Lead Construction Estimator - Data Center and Healthcare Construction - Base Salary to 200k/year - Birmingham, ALOur client is a rapidly growing engineering, manufacturing, and construction firm specializing in complex commercial construction projects including healthcare facilities, mission critical environments, and data centers. They are seeking a Lead Construction Estimator to support preconstruction and estimating efforts for large-scale commercial projects throughout the United States.This role will lead estimating activities, pricing strategy, subcontractor coordination, value engineering efforts, and client-facing preconstruction support to help ensure accurate and competitive project delivery.Responsibilities:Lead estimating and preconstruction efforts across assigned commercial construction projects and programsDevelop conceptual, schematic, design development, and GMP estimatesPrepare and review detailed cost estimates, bid packages, scopes of work, and pricing exercisesLead subcontractor outreach, bid coordination, scope analysis, and price leveling activitiesPerform cost analysis, budgeting, and risk assessments throughout the preconstruction processLead value engineering efforts to improve project cost, constructability, and schedule performanceCoordinate with internal design, engineering, operations, supply chain, and finance teamsTrack design scope changes and communicate impacts to project budgets and schedulesDevelop project schedules, work plans, and preconstruction deliverablesSupport contract negotiations, proposal development, and client presentationsBuild and maintain relationships with subcontractors, vendors, consultants, and clientsSupport handoff of preconstruction information to project management and operations teamsSupport continuous improvement of estimating systems, databases, processes, and reporting toolsQualifications:7+ years of experience in the construction industry3+ years of experience in preconstruction and estimatingExperience estimating commercial construction projects within healthcare, mission critical, and/or data center environmentsStrong knowledge of commercial construction methods, materials, building systems, and project cost structuresExperience managing subcontractor bidding, scope review, and pricing analysisExperience coordinating with operations, design, engineering, and project management teamsProficiency with estimating, scheduling, and construction project management softwareExperience preparing conceptual and detailed construction estimatesStrong written and verbal communication skills with experience supporting client-facing meetings and presentationsCompensation:Base salary in the 180k – 200k/year range or higher depending on experienceAnnual bonus opportunityHealth, dental, and vision insurance401k retirement planEmployer-paid short-term and long-term disability coverageFlexible Spending Account (FSA)PTO and paid holidays#INDALL
