Position TitleSystem AdministratorEmployment TypeFull-TimeLocationCarlsbad, CA Position SummaryWe are seeking a highly motivated System Administrator to support and maintain the organization's IT infrastructure, including servers, workstations, operating systems, cloud services, and enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will be responsible for day-to-day administration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization of business-critical systems while ensuring security, reliability, and compliance across the IT environment.This role requires a strong technical background in Microsoft technologies, virtualization, identity and access management, endpoint management, and cybersecurity best practices.Key Responsibilities Infrastructure Administration & Support Provide day-to-day operational administration, maintenance, and support of business operating systems, servers, workstations, and software. Scope, develop, implement, and support new technology solutions required by the business. Schedule and perform system installations, upgrades, patch management, and maintenance activities in accordance with established IT policies and procedures. Monitor system performance and proactively tune systems to maximize availability and efficiency. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, network, and system-related issues within established service and operational standards. Ensure workstation and server data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions. Endpoint & Asset Management Administer and support Microsoft Intune and System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) environments. Manage endpoint deployments, software distribution, device compliance, and lifecycle management. Conduct hardware and software audits to ensure compliance with corporate standards, policies, licensing requirements, and configuration guidelines. Identity & Access Management Support and maintain identity and authentication management solutions. Manage Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) environments. Support secure authentication methods, single sign-on (SSO), multi-factor authentication (MFA), and user provisioning processes. Assist with identity management platforms such as Okta and other authentication technologies. Security & Compliance Support cybersecurity initiatives including anti-malware/antivirus solutions, cloud security services, vulnerability management programs, and threat detection/incident response activities. Assist in maintaining secure system configurations and compliance with organizational security standards. Develop and maintain technical standards, policies, and procedures documentation to support governance and compliance requirements. Documentation & Process Improvement Create and maintain technical documentation, process guides, system diagrams, and operational procedures. Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance system reliability, security, and efficiency. Participate in disaster recovery planning, testing, and business continuity initiatives. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience. 4-8 years of experience in Information Technology with a focus on infrastructure support and systems administration. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory and/or Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD). Experience supporting Microsoft technologies including Microsoft Intune, SCCM, and Microsoft Azure. Experience administering VMware virtualization technologies including vSphere. Hands-on experience with identity and authentication platforms such as Okta and Azure AD. Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills. Experience supporting Windows server and workstation environments. Working knowledge of IT security principles, including endpoint protection, cloud security, vulnerability management, and incident response. Preferred Qualifications Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation. Knowledge of enterprise monitoring and management tools. Experience supporting hybrid cloud environments. Familiarity with backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions. Certifications Preferred Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) or equivalent Microsoft certification. Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA). Additional Microsoft Azure, Security, Modern Endpoint Administration, or VMware certifications are highly desirable.
