Job Summary for Cobol Programmer with AIX:We are seeking an experienced COBOL Mainframe and AIX Batch Software Engineer to join our Commercial Enrollment team. This role requires a strong technical background in mainframe development and batch processing, along with excellent communication, customer service, and vendor-management skills.Job Qualifications and Responsibilities for Cobol Programmer with AIX:Design, develop, enhance, and maintain COBOL applications supporting commercial enrollment systems.Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot mainframe batch processes and production jobs.Work with AIX/Unix environments to develop, execute, monitor, and troubleshoot batch applications and scripts.Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.Perform application debugging, root-cause analysis, issue resolution, and production support.Monitor batch processing and investigate failures, delays, data issues, and system errors.5+ years of experience with COBOL development in a Mainframe environment.Strong experience with JCL and Mainframe batch processing.Experience with AIX/Unix environments.Strong knowledge of Unix/AIX shell scripting and batch processing.Experience troubleshooting complex batch jobs and production issues.Experience working with DB2 and SQL.Knowledge of Mainframe utilities and tools such as SORT/ICETOOL, IDCAMS, and File-AID.
