VP of IT

We innovate new products and processes for our customers that drive safer, smarter, and more effective solutions. Our organization continues to grow and we are seeking an impactful Vice President of Information Technology to help continue our winning ways. The right individual can perform this position through a hybrid approach from a combination of home, our headquarters in Andrews, SC, or from our Upside Innovations business in the metro Cincinnati, OH area.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The VP of IT is responsible for the strategic and tactical direction of Information Technology across our businesses. This role leads a team of 11 professionals responsible for software systems, application development, business systems, and IT infrastructure. The successful VP of IT will demonstrate passion for the use of technology to improve and grow our business.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Partner with executive leadership on long-term business planning and growth.
Collaborates with decision makers across the business to identify, implement, and support IT strategies and effective technology solutions aligned with corporate objectives
Oversees enterprise architecture, software engineering, infrastructure, end-user computing, service management, and operations.
Leads cross-functional projects with a focus on specific improvement efforts regarding enhanced customer experience, increased sales, improved efficiencies, and resulting profits
Directs at an executive level the management of IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, and software applications to ensure network and storage capabilities can accommodate business needs
Provides guidance to team members managing database architecture, security, and capabilities
Maintains Epicor Kinetic ERP system and integrations, implement upgrades, and ensure availability, integrity, and confidentiality
Supports business reporting needs through ERP reporting, business intelligence dashboarding, and other technology solutions
Lead cybersecurity strategy, review results and monitor remediations, manage audits and implement training for IT team and end users
Leads and mentor direct reports and the IT team as a whole, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment
Fosters a culture of collaboration, innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement, embracing ownership across all technology teams.
Scales the IT organization to support ongoing acquisitions and rapid business growth.
Manages IT budgets, resources, and vendor relationships
Stays current with emerging technologies and industry trends to drive continuous improvement
Coaches business and technical teams on practical AI adoption, driving experimentation to identify high-impact use cases.
Develops and enforces IT policies and procedures to ensure compliance with data security/backup strategies, government regulations, and best practices
Leads crisis management, ensuring quick resolution of IT-related issues
Other business duties as required
15+ years of progressive IT leadership experience with at least 5+ years in senior executive roles
Experience aligning technology with organizational strategy including leading data and digital transformation initiatives
Strong understanding of enterprise technology systems (ERP, CRM, network, data management, AI, cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, etc.) Epicor Kinetic experience a big plus
Experience implementing IT governance, policies, and compliance measures
Risk assessment and mitigation strategies for IT operations
Proven experience managing IT vendors, contracts, and service providers
Ability to evaluate and negotiate technology solutions
Budget planning and cost optimization skills
Strong ability to translate technical concepts into strategic operational recommendations for senior leadership
Effective communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Experience leading IT projects from conception to implementation
Strong organizational and change management skills
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
Proven ability to manage and lead a diverse team
Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and data protection regulations
Demonstrated success in leading through M&A integrations and scaling technology teams in growth environments.
Manufacturing/industrial experience preferred
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field (Masters degree and/or MBA a plus)
