SURGICAL TECH - FIRST ASSIST

Job Summary Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and/or Physician performs a variety of specialized technical duties in the surgical environment. Qualifications Education Required High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent Completion of an accredited Surgical Technician program Waived if holding current CST certification, successful completion of 350 cases, and 2 years as a Surgical First Assistant Experience: Preferred Two years of experience as a Surgical First Assistant Certification/Licensure: Required Surgical Technician Certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting The National Center for Competency Testing or its successor Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Must obtain within ninety (90) days of start date First Assist Certification Determined/Approved by the department
