Qualified candidates must possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering from a 4-year college or university. Strong computer skills using Windows Office and AutoCAD programs, a desire to learn, explore new solutions, apply new approaches, and participate in a hands-on team approach to improve the plant process and increase production performance are necessary characteristics. Demonstrated leadership and/or co-op experience a plus.
Duties & Responsibilities:
The Engineering/Maintenance Department functions as a service group within the facility and as needed for other division locations.
They are responsible for ensuring the reliability and performance of the production process, plant equipment, and facility. Position accountabilities include:
1. Identify and implement improvement projects to increase production capacity, product quality, equipment reliability, and employee safety. Also, reduce energy usage and production costs.
2. Support and train factory personnel on new equipment and operating procedures.
3. Support maintenance functions by advising on technical matters, troubleshooting, and planning repairs.
4. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Successful candidates will gain experience with the following systems:
1. Utilities – Electrical power distribution, natural gas, compressed air, and water treatment.
2. Bulk powder storage, conveying, weighing, and mixing.
3. Glass melting, forming and annealing.
4. Process measurement instruments and control systems.
5. Automated glass cutting, handling, and packaging equipment.
6. Material handling, mobile equipment, and warehousing.
7. Power transmission systems.
8. Industrial workplace regulations (i.e. OSHA, EPA, NEC, etc.).
9. Environmental Compliance
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $80,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
