Lead Software Engineer (Ruby on Rails) | SaaSWe are partnered with a growing SaaS business to help them find a Lead Software Engineer with strong Ruby on Rails and JavaScript experience.This is a hands-on technical leadership role for someone who wants to remain close to the code while taking greater ownership of architecture, engineering standards and technical direction.You’ll work within an agile development pod, building and scaling core features across a SaaS platform while helping the wider engineering team deliver high-quality, maintainable software.What you’ll be doingWriting high-quality, production-ready codeLeading technical design and architecture decisionsBuilding and scaling core SaaS platform functionalityReviewing pull requests and providing meaningful technical feedbackTroubleshooting complex issues across the stackWorking closely with Product and UX to translate requirements into technical solutionsBreaking larger initiatives into deliverable engineering workManaging technical trade-offs around scalability, maintainability and deliveryMentoring and supporting engineers within your podRepresenting your team in wider technical discussionsDriving engineering best practices across the development lifecycleWe’re looking for:5+ years of Ruby on Rails5+ years of JavaScript2+ years of SQLExperience building Single Page ApplicationsStrong experience developing production software in a SaaS environmentExperience with any of the following would be beneficial:ReactAWSPostgreSQLKubernetesPythonJenkinsCI/CDExt.jsYou do not need experience with everything listed above.Experience building AI-powered solutions using technologies such as LangChain or Amazon Bedrock would be useful, but isn’t essential.Who this role would suit:This could be a strong fit for someone currently working as a:Lead Software Engineer | Lead Ruby Engineer | Staff Software Engineer | Principal Software Engineer | Senior Software EngineerThe key is that you still enjoy being an active engineer while taking ownership of technical direction and helping other engineers perform at a high level.
