Communications Specialist
Title: Communications SpecialistClient: Energy, Oil & GasLocation: Houston, Texas (Downtown)Type: ContractRate: $40-50/hour DOEUrgency: ASAP Summary: Our client within the Energy, Oil & Gas industry is searching for a Communications Specialist with previous experience in internal communications. The potential candidate will be tasked with creating compelling content to b uild, implement, and manage a comprehensive internal communications strategy. The goal is to enhance and increase employee engagement, build internal alignment, and increase awareness across employees in all areas. In this role, the importance of managing and maintaining the organization-wide Intranet, and content management system is key. The candidate would create and edit a wide range of engaging, creative, and targeted communications assignments across multiple company-wide channels to include Intranet, email, digital signage, print, and PowerPoint presentations. As well as help ensure that employees are informed, aligned, and connected with the company's vision, values, and business objectives. Duties: Lead the agenda/program and coordination for organization-wide Town Halls Partner with project teams to develop communications that support and enable strong organizational change management Manage internal use of the company's brand standards Set clear metrics, measure the success of, and make needed improvements to messaging, channels, and communication practices. Assist with planning and executing employee engagement events and initiatives. Foster a culture of engagement and collaboration by organizing and supporting initiatives that promote employee involvement and a positive workplace culture. Facilitate feedback channels to understand employee needs and sentiments, ensuring the voice of the workforce is heard and addressed. Promote and celebrate achievements, milestones, and cultural events to strengthen a sense of community and belonging within the company. Requirements: 5+ years of related work experience in internal communications in a corporate environment, with proven capability in supporting the communications needs of a dynamic enterprise. Strong professional-level writer who likes to write, with working knowledge of AP and corporate styles. Mastery of Microsoft 365 suite of programs, with Advanced PowerPoint and SharePoint skills being essential. Experience in Adobe Creative suite, with emphasis on InDesign. Ability to create professional and visually compelling PowerPoint presentations with graphs, and charts. Experience in crafting and implementing impactful multi-channel internal communications initiatives that support business success and change management. Validated knowledge of internal communications and standard methodologies/tactics, including traditional, digital, and video to inform, secure buy-in and motivate internal audiences. Strong time management and organizational skills; self-motivated, flexible, and capable of balancing multiple priorities to meet deadlines. A proven team player with well-developed interpersonal skills; a bias towards working collaboratively with others from a diverse set of backgrounds, cultures, and viewpoints. Emerging executive presence, able to interact effectively with colleagues at all levels of the organization to achieve results. Results-focused mindset, with fluency in data and analytics and their use in driving and fine-tuning successful communications strategies for diverse internal stakeholders. Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Communications, Journalism, or related field is required.
