The Managerwill play a key role in advancing client government affairs strategies, analyzing policydevelopments, and supporting advocacy efforts on behalf of emerging biotech companies.This role requires strong critical thinking, policy analysis, and problem-solving skills to interpretlegislative and regulatory developments and translate them into actionable strategies for clients.The Manager will also play an important role in building and maintaining relationships withpolicymakers, patient organizations, and other key stakeholders.The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative and entrepreneurial environment and is excitedabout working on policy issues that impact small innovators and underserved patientpopulations.Professional GrowthBecause KPM is a growing boutique firm, team members have the opportunity to contributebeyond traditional account management. Employees at KPM are trusted to operate with a high level of independence andregularly engage directly with C-suite executives, policymakers, and patient advocacy leaders.Key ResponsibilitiesMonitor and analyze federal legislative and regulatory developments affecting biotech,rare disease policy, and healthcare innovation.Conduct policy research and prepare analytical memos, briefings, and presentations forclients.Lead client government affairs workstreams and help develop strategies to advancepolicy objectives.Build and maintain relationships with Congressional offices, federal agencies, patientadvocacy organizations, and industry stakeholders.Facilitate client engagement with policymakers and external stakeholders.Coordinate and support client-facing events, including Capitol Hill fly-ins, briefings, andstakeholder meetings.Prepare meeting materials, policy briefs, and internal strategy documents.Serve as a liaison between clients, firm leadership, and policy stakeholders.Apply critical thinking and strategic problem-solving to help clients navigate complexpolicy challenges.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Political Science, Public Policy, or a related field preferred.3–7 years of experience working on Capitol Hill, at a government affairs consulting firm,trade association, or in a public affairs or policy role.Strong critical thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to assess policy developmentsand identify strategic implications.Demonstrated problem-solving ability and sound judgment in navigating complex policyenvironments.Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills.Strong written and verbal communication abilities.Highly organized with strong project management and multitasking skills.Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a fast-pacedenvironment.High level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion with confidential information.CompensationSalary Range: $90,000 – $105,000, commensurate with experience, plus profit-sharing plan andbenefits.Why Join KPMKPM offers a distinctive, entrepreneurial government affairs experience in Washington, DC.Team members are trusted advisors to clients and play an active role in developing strategiesthat shape state and federal policy discussions affecting medical innovation.
