Freight Forwarding Key Account ManagerLocation: Newark, New JerseySalary: Up to $130,000Metro Global USA is looking for an experienced Freight Forwarding Key Account Manager to join its growing team in New Jersey.Powered by industry-leading technology, Metro delivers import and export air, ocean, and road freight forwarding, supply chain management, logistics, and specialist logistics services across sectors including retail, manufacturing, and chemicals.This role will focus on the retention, development, and growth of Metro’s existing customer base across the US market, increasing share of wallet, strengthening strategic partnerships, and identifying new opportunities across the wider group.You will work closely with business leaders in both the UK and USA, so strong communication skills, cultural awareness, and confidence working across global teams and time zones are essential.Key Responsibilities:Develop and expand relationships with assigned customers, divisions, and group companiesAct as the key link between Metro and its customers, championing both internally and externallyManage customer expectations and ensure agreed actions are followed throughLead regular customer review meetings, including MBRs and QBRsProvide scheduled KPI reviews and share relevant market intelligenceIdentify and secure inclusion in relevant RFI and RFQ opportunitiesOwn the RFI and RFQ process, working with internal teams to ensure accurate and timely submissionsResolve customer issues and complaints, including corrective action planningDevelop and maintain account plans, identifying current business share and growth opportunitiesPromote and upsell Metro and wider group services, including MVT and Eco solutionsSupport onboarding of new and additional businessMaintain accurate CRM updates, including meetings, opportunities, and key account informationSupport credit control, account reconciliation, marketing campaigns, and customer entertainmentWhat We’re Looking For:Minimum 5 years’ experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or supply chain managementStrong understanding of multi-modal freight operations, including air, ocean, and roadKnowledge of international trade and regulatory requirements, particularly across the US, UK, Europe, and AsiaProven experience managing and growing key accounts in a freight forwarding or logistics environmentStrong track record in customer retention, upselling, and increasing wallet shareExperience with structured account planning, MBRs, QBRs, and long-term customer developmentExperience managing RFI and RFQ processesConfident communicator with the ability to build relationships across countries, departments, and time zonesComfortable using CRM systems such as Salesforce, HubSpot, or similarCommercially aware, with the ability to analyse account profitability and identify growth opportunitiesProactive, consultative, customer-focused, and solution-oriented approachWillingness to travel regularly within the USA and internationallyPackage and Benefits:Salary up to $130,000, depending on experienceHealth insurance offered from the 1st of the month following 60 days of employmentSilver Plan: company pays 80% of employee premium and 20% for dependentsGold Plan: company pays 70% of employee premium and 10% for dependents401(k) plan with automatic 3% deferral after 1 yearCompany match of 100% up to the first 3% of salary deferralsAdditional 50% match on the next 2% of eligible compensation3 weeks’ vacation plus company holidays5 sick days and 3 personal daysOpportunity to join a senior team within a rapidly expanding logistics businessThis is an excellent opportunity for a commercially driven Freight Forwarding Key Account Manager to play a key role in the continued growth of Metro’s US customer base and wider global network.Interested?
